“I
regard the week I spent at the College akin to a sabbatical. It gave me
the opportunity to think deeply about the law and the role I play as a
judge in the functioning of our democracy.
Sadly,
there are few opportunities to do this during the course of a normal week
given the demands of my call ... my time at The National Judicial College
always refreshes me for the work I do and gives me skills which I can
put to immediate use when I return.”
--
Hon. Thomas C. Dudgeon,
Circuit Court of the
18th Judicial Circuit,
Wheaton, Illinois
