Experienced administrative law judges and hearing officers will benefit from this unique course which provides an in-depth look at federal and state administrative law not covered in other courses. Special emphasis is placed on recent decisions and developments in administrative law. After this course, participants will be able to apply due process and other constitutional developments affecting administrative adjudication; integrate recent evidentiary developments into their proceedings; reevaluate pre-hearing and post-hearing procedures in their courts; examine their administrative hearings for cases appropriate for alternative dispute resolution; fortify their decisions for judicial review; and regulate the ethical behavior of counsel and presiding officers during administrative proceedings.
Qualifies as a requirement in the Certificate in Judicial
Development, Administrative Law Adjudication Skills and the Dispute Resolution Skills programs.
