Co-sponsored by the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary and the National Conference of the Administrative Law Judiciary.
This highly interactive course equips administrative law judges with the skills necessary to be effective mediators. After attending this course, participants will be able to define the essential stages of mediation; plan and conduct mediations; prevent and break impasse; facilitate decision making; understand the unique ethical dilemmas facing mediators; explore issues of confidentiality and the need for neutrality; possess a working knowledge of variant methods of mediation; and write effective and enforceable agreements. Participants who complete this course will be eligible for certification in all states that require a 40-hour education program for certification.
Qualifies as a requirement for the Certificate in Judicial Development, Dispute Resolution Skills program and as an elective in the Administrative Law Adjudication Skills program.
