This highly interactive course equips administrative law judges with
the skills necessary to be effective mediators and to become certified
in states that require a 40-hour education program for certification.
After attending this course, participants will be able to define the essential
stages of mediation; plan and conduct mediations; prevent and break impasse;
facilitate decision making; discuss ethical dilemmas; explore issues of
confidentiality and the importance of neutrality; and write effective
agreements.
Qualifies as a requirement in the Certificate in Judicial Development,
Dispute Resolution Skills program and as an elective in the Administrative
Law Adjudication Skills program.
