This course
is designed to improve the skills of administrative law judges who handle
workers’ compensation cases. After attending this course, participants
will be able to integrate due process and other constitutional requirements
affecting workers’ compensation adjudication into their cases; evaluate
the validity of employer defenses in their proceedings; re-evaluate pre-hearing
and post-hearing procedures in their courts; effectively evaluate the
admissibility and credibility of expert testimony; review recent developments
in occupational medicine; accurately assess causation and the impact of
pre-existing conditions; and fortify their decisions to survive judicial
review.
Qualifies
as a requirement in the Certificate in Judicial Development, Administrative
Law Adjudication Skills program.
