Is your court experiencing jail overcrowding issues? Has setting up drug
court and other specialty dockets caused issues with case processing?
This course provides judges with the opportunity to examine and challenge
their present courtroom system, which will assist them in processing cases
more quickly while adhering to all legal requirements. After attending
this course, participants will be able to define the essential elements
of an effective caseflow management system; develop strategies for handling
areas resistant to more effective caseflow management; form criteria and
time standards for cases; and invent strategies for getting and keeping
judicial compliance. Online materials will be available for you to complete
approximately six weeks prior to the course start date. At that time,
judges will receive an email with the website location and their login
information. Participants should plan to set aside approximately two to
four hours of time to review and complete the materials prior to the course.
Qualifies for 2 credits toward the Judicial Studies degree and as
an elective in the Certificate in Judicial Development, Administrative
Law Adjudication Skills, Dispute Resolution Skills, General Jurisdiction
Trial Skills, Special Court Trial Skills and Tribal Judicial Skills programs.
