Tribal Court Practice and Procedure

Offered biennially in even numbered years.

This course will provide tribal court judges and court administrators with the basic practices and procedures that they will need to know as they set up new or organize existing adversarial court systems. After attending this course, participants will be able to: recognize the fundamental goals and responsibilities of tribal courts; articulate reasonable performance standards for the operation of tribal courts within key operational areas; work with court employees in setting up practices and procedures; and create an efficient and organized tribal court that provides justice to individuals litigants.

Qualifies as an elective for the Certificate in Judicial Development, Tribal Judicial Skills program.
