PILLARS OF JUSTICE: Judicial Education to Improve a Nation
To meet the ever-increasing needs of the judicial branch, the NJC has created the Pillars of Justice Fund to provide our nation’s judiciary with innovative, results-oriented programs and professional development. The NJC must be able to enhance and update its courses and programs as well as provide new and innovative solutions to enable judges to adequately meet the everyday challenges they face in their courtrooms. This is why we have been reaching out to law firms and corporations for support. Together, we can implement new programs and services that can bring positive change to our court system.

HELP ENSURE POSITIVE CHANGE IN OUR NATION'S COURTS
The NJC created the Pillars of Justice Fund primarily to establish a research, education and services fund to address crucial judicial issues that are affecting our nation’s judiciary. Important topics to be addressed through this fund include:
• Understanding scientific expert evidence
• Core competencies needed by state trial judges to handle complex civil cases
• Commercial litigation/business courts
• The impact of aging of Americans
• Electronic discovery
• Improving the professionalism and competency of administrative adjudicators

A FUND FOR THE FUTURE OF JUSTICE
Pillars of Justice Fund donors have the option of supporting the following three areas:
Unrestricted Support
Unrestricted funding is extremely important since it is used to provide financial assistance for judges to attend classes, maintain state-of-the-art technology and support the general operations of the College.
Research, Education and Services Fund
This fund allows the NJC to address areas that impact the ability of our nation’s courts to provide quality justice. The NJC’s curriculum will be expanded to address existing and emerging issues that pose challenges for the courts. Research for new programs will shape content, enable new course materials to be developed, and allow us to incorporate additional areas of expertise into our curriculum. Initiatives to address include self represented litigants, forensic evidence, commercial litigation/business courts, improving the professionalism and competency of administrative adjudicators, and the aging of America, to name a few.
Endowment Funding
Increasing the NJC’s endowment is imperative to enable the NJC to acquire the resources it needs to evolve and expand to meet the growing needs of the judiciary.
