NJC's Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors Collaborate for 2013 Celebration
7/9/10
To celebrate the College’s upcoming 50 anniversary in 2013, the NJC’s Board of Visitors and Board of Trustees met at the College on June 17, 2010 to develop plans for this historic event. The boards envision a series of educational symposia held at locations across the country. Together, the boards reviewed potential locations and discussed possible symposium topics, focusing on issues that may influence the nature of justice and the American judiciary in the coming years. NJC’s Development Director, Gretchen Alt Sawyer was delighted with the input from members at the June meeting. Sawyer said, “We are excited about our upcoming 50th anniversary and look forward to both boards’ participation. Input provided at the June meeting has helped us to begin carving out important issues to address during the symposia. We are extremely grateful to have such an outstanding group of judges and attorneys as well as representatives from the business and corporate communities who comprise both our Board of Visitors and Board of Trustees. They provide a cross-section of perspectives to improve the administration of justice though education. NJC would not be the influential institution that it is today without their dedication and commitment to advancing justice.” Board of Visitors members include leaders in the legal and judicial fields and share in NJC’s commitment to education, innovation and advancing justice. They provide input that furthers the quality of education provided to judges as well as serve as goodwill ambassadors by enhancing awareness and assisting with nationwide fundraising efforts. The Board of Trustees are an appointed 18-member body which sets policy, fosters a climate of excellence, promotes the development of innovative judicial education programs and provides leadership in achieving the NJC’s mission.
