Continued Support from Long-Time Donor – Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation

New Database Servers

The Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation, a long-time, generous supporter of the NJC recently provided a $15,000 grant for two new servers to support our critical databases. Since 1982, the Hawkins Foundation has supported numerous projects at the NJC ranging from enclosing our patio, a pleasant, outdoor meeting space, to providing responder systems that allow judges to respond anonymously and uninhibited to questions posed about sensitive legal issues, to basic needs such as staff computers.

Last year’s grant allowed us to finish renovating two of our classrooms into sate-of-the-art, technologically-enhanced, modern learning environments that allow instructors to present better lectures and learning experiences than ever before. We are honored by our longstanding partnership with the Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation.

The Robert Z. Hawkins Foundation was formed in 1980 through the will of Robert Ziemer Hawkins, a longtime Reno resident, lawyer and successful investor. The Foundation supports many northern Nevada non-profit organizations with interests that include education, animal assistance and youth programs.
