NAALJ Support for the Hon. Arthur A. Gladstone Memorial Scholarship The National Judicial College is pleased to announce that the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary (NAALJ) has donated $2,500 for the Hon. Arthur A. Gladstone Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Hon. Arthur A. Gladstone Scholarship Fund was established by The National Judicial College in memory of an outstanding administrative law judge, Judge Gladstone, who was an NJC faculty member for twenty-seven years. Judge Gladstone passed away at the age of 97 on May 8, 2009. The Fund will provide scholarships for ALJs to attend NJC courses. NAALJ’s support of the NJC is long-standing. NAALJ is the largest professional organization devoted exclusively to administrative adjudication. It is a non-profit corporation founded in 1974 in Illinois. Its voting members include: state, federal, and local administrative law judges, administrative judges, hearing officers, referees, trial examiners, agency chairs and commissioners, as well as higher appellate authorities, exercising a wide variety of subject matter jurisdiction. Associate members include law professors and attorneys involved in administrative law. As of May 31, 2007, NAALJ had approximately 700 dues paying members. The NJC is proud to be affiliated with NAALJ and looks forward to providing scholarships to ALJs as a direct result of their contribution. During these challenging economic times, states are experiencing budget shortfall and are reducing judicial education programs. Support from this fund will ensure that ALJs continue to receive excellent education at the NJC. If you would like to contribute to the Hon. Arthur A. Gladstone Memorial Scholarship Fund, please click here. You can designate your gift by entering “Gladstone” into the comments section of the secure, online gift form.
