New members join The National Judicial College Board of Visitors

Judge Sophia Hall, Administrative Presiding Judge of the Resource Section of the Juvenile and Child Protection Department of the Circuit court of Cook County, IL and John Mowbray, Managing Director of the Las Vegas, NV, office of Fennemore Craig, P.C., recently joined the Board of Visitors at The National Judicial College (NJC).

Judge Hall was elected Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in 1980.  She served in the Criminal Division for four years, and thereafter in the Chancery Division for 19 years. She is a Past Chair of the NJC Board of Trustees. She is a past member of the Board of the State Justice Institute to which she was appointed by President William J. Clinton and confirmed by the United States Senate April 3, 1998, concluding her service in 2010.

A member since 1976, Mr. Mowbray is a past president of the State Bar of Nevada where he served on its Board of Governors for seven years. John chaired the State Bar of Nevada’s Multijurisdictional Practice Committee, served on the Nevada Supreme Court’s Multijurisdictional Practice Committee and on the Nevada Supreme Court’s Commission on the Amendment to the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct. He is a member and past president of the Clark County Bar Association.  A founding member, Mr. Mowbray is a Master Emeritus in the Howard D. McKibben Nevada American Inn of Court and a Colleague of the Nevada Law Foundation.

The NJC’s Board of Visitors is a nationally recognized select group of individuals charged with furthering the quality of education offered by the NJC. They are renowned professionals who bring a cross-section of perspectives to improve the advancement of justice through judicial education. Members also serve as goodwill ambassadors of the NJC by enhancing awareness of the College and assisting with fundraising efforts.
