Financial Statements in the Courtroom to Be Held in Chicago, San Francisco and Maryland 4/7/2008
Financial Statements in the Courtroom is an intensive two-day course offered solely to members of the judiciary. This interactive course uses industry experts and role-play to examine current topics relevant to understanding complex financial statements. Each session will focus on key concepts, tools and techniques needed for making informed legal decisions. Case studies and problem-solving exercises will help you refine decision-making skills and expand your knowledge of financial statements. This course is an excellent opportunity for judges to explore financial litigation issues while gaining the skills and knowledge that will lead to more educated decisions relating to complex financial statements. Financial statements and their accompanying data contain a wealth of useful information regarding the financial position of a company and the success of its operations. The goal of this course is to provide judges with knowledge that will enable them to locate pertinent information on financial statements and to understand and effectively interpret financial statements. Achieving this goal will lead judges to making more confident and informed decisions. Financial Statements in the Courtroom is designed specifically for judges looking for a practical foundation in current financial statement theory and practice, seeking to become conversant in a variety of business valuation, techniques and wanting to broaden their understanding of how functional business areas interrelate. There is no cost to you or your state to attend this course.
