NJC 2008 Course Catalog Available 7/20/2007 The National Judicial College is gearing up for a year of judicial discovery and unsurpassed programs for 2008. View the vast array of exciting and refreshing offerings in The National Judicial College’s 2008 course catalog available by ordering online or calling (800) 25-JUDGE. “Our 2008 offerings are unprecedented in the depth and magnitude in which they examine issues critical to judges,” said Hon. William F. Dressel, president of The National Judicial College. “We think judges and court personnel will be please with the selection of judicial career enhancing choices, coving all relevant topics as well as emerging issues and judicial trends.” Courses on the 2008 schedule range from Mediation for Administrative Law Judges, Judicial Writing and Current Issues in the Law to Tribal Court Practice and Procedure, Sentencing Motor Vehicle Law Offenders and Handling Capital Cases. All courses are updated annually with the latest information available. The College will also be offering a new course, Judicial Wellness and Personal Security, developed in the wake of increasing court security issues. It will be held in Reno Sept. 24 and 25, 2008. The 2008 Seminar Series offers a refreshing array of cultural and historical locations for judges to explore complex judicial issues. Some of the locations include Orlando, Fla., Washington, D.C., and Ashland, Ore. Seminar Series courses consistently receive high ratings for their breadth of material coverage, innovative teaching and expert faculty. The upcoming year, also includes a large selection on online courses and court and media courses as well as a full range of basic, intermediate and advanced judicial education course levels. The catalog includes details, dates, prices and locations for all courses as well as general information on the College’s advanced degree and certificate programs, Reno-area events, hotel information, NJC Press publications and scholarships. “We look forward to seeing many familiar faces and new ones as judges seek to expand their skills and knowledge here at the College and at interesting locations across the nation where we will be bringing our innovative programs to them,” expressed President Dressel.
