Associate Judge Position Open for the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe (FPST) in Fallon, NV

The Fallon, NV Paiute-Shoshone Tribe is seeking an Associate Judge to hear, preside over, and decide on criminal, traffic, civil and a variety of cases in FPST court, as needed in the absence of the Chief Judge and as approved by the Fallon Business Council (FBC). Responsible for court orders, judgments, warrants, records, and all other duties as required by Tribal Law, Constitution, By-Laws, rules of the Court, or to complete all court procedures. Qualifications: Must be an attorney licensed to practice law in any state or federal court, knowledgeable of Indian Law, never convicted of a felony and not convicted of a misdemeanor within the past two years. Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license, be insurable under Tribal vehicle policy, and pass drug and background checks. Pay per contract. Preference given to qualified Indian applicants in accordance with 25 CFR 271.44. This position will be open until filled.
