Personal Security for Judges

Through lecture and using current and relevant case studies of attacks to judicial officers, participants will be sensitized to some of the pre-attack indicators that predicate attacks. The presentation will provide techniques for survival while in transit, best practices to employ regarding workplace and home security, and pros and cons posed by social media.

  • Describe why a security-conscious lifestyle is necessary for judges and their families;
  • Identify behaviors associated with affected and targeted attacks;
  • Discuss the importance of intuition as a tool; and
  • Discuss the progressive nature of court-targeted violence.
