This presentation will explore the different types of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), their effects on individuals, and the various methods of administration. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how these medications function and their role in opioid addiction treatment. This is a grant-funded webinar presented free of charge to judges.

During this course, you will learn to:
- Review the three FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder: Methadone, Buprenorphine, and Naltrexone.
- Explain how each medication works in the brain, its benefits, and potential side effects.
- Discuss various administration routes, including oral, sublingual, injectable, and implantable forms.
Faculty:
William R. Morrone, D.O., M.S. Currently works as Assistant Director of Family Medicine at Synergy Medical Education Alliance (a division of MSU), Medical Director at Hospice of Michigan, and as an addictionologist in the juvenile justice system through Wolverine Human Services all in Saginaw, Michigan. Dr. Morrone is a graduate of Michigan State University (MSUCOM) completing an internship in internal medicine and residency in family medicine. He is board certified by the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners and certified by both Academy of Pain Management and American Society of Addiction through the American Society of Pain Educators as well as Certified Forensic Physician Through the American College of Forensic Examiners. He was a former National Health Service Corps Scholar and worked with the underserved population of inner-city Saginaw. He also holds a graduate degree in toxicology and pharmacology from the University of Missouri at Kansas and currently serves as a Medical Examiner.
