RENO, Nev. – The National Judicial College has unveiled a new
scholarship initiative for American Bar Association judicial division
members, NJC President Chad Schmucker announced on Monday.
Judges who are members of the ABA judicial division are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship for any in-person NJC course. There is no limit on the amount of time this scholarship can be used per individual.
The scholarship is in effect immediately and can be applied for at https://www.judges.org/courses/scholarships/.
“Making the best judicial courses available at a discounted rate highlights our commitment to affordable education and provides another great reason to become an ABA judicial division member,†NJC President Chad Schmucker said.
The NJC is committed to making its courses more affordable for judges. The College awarded $2.7 million in scholarships to judges between 2010-2015.
The ABA helped start the NJC over 50 years ago by recommending the creation of an entity dedicated to continuing judicial education. The College and the ABA has had a close working relationship ever since.
