The Associated Press quoted National Judicial College President Chad C. Schmucker and faculty member John Muffler in a recent story on judicial security.

The AP article cited threats made against U.S. District Judge James Robart after he imposed a temporary restraining order that halted President Trump’s executive order banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.

Muffler, a former U.S. marshal who has taught at the College since 2008, was quoted as saying, “I know there’s a fear among the judiciary with what’s being said.” He added, “people on the edge can easily be pushed over the edge once the rhetoric gets going.”

Speaking about threats to judicial security, Schmucker noted, “assaults on judges don’t occur every day, but threats do.”

The AP article is available here. Muffler was also recently quoted in a CNN article.
