The NJC’s National Tribal Judicial Center has a new look with a redesigned emblem from Native American artist Jason Hill.
Since the center’s founding in 2002, its logo has consisted of a simple gavel and feather encircled by the center’s name. The new emblem recalls traditional Indian imagery, and the accompanying wordmark clarifies that the center is part of the NJC.
The emblem made its debut at the Federal Bar Association’s Indian Law Conference earlier this April in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Hill is a Northern Paiute of the Ongabi Dhicutta (Salt-Eater People), Western Shoshone, and descended from the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians. See more of his work at his website, Indigenized.com.
