A past chair of the National Conference of State Trial Judges, Judge Clarke is retiring from the bench this month after having served on the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County (Maryland) since 1998.
Prior to her judicial appointment, she practiced law in both the public and private sector. She was the first African-American female to serve as state’s attorney for Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland.
