Join us in Phoenix for a brand new NJC course that examines judging through the lens of professional baseball. Just as baseball teams use spring training to sharpen skills, recalibrate strategy, and build team cohesion, this four-day course offers judges a similar opportunity to reflect, refresh, and refine their craft. Held in Phoenix during the excitement of Spring Training, this course is designed to enhance the skills and competencies of judges through interactive and engaging sessions. Participants will explore the parallels between the world of baseball and judicial performance, focusing on effective decision-making, leadership development, and the dynamics of working within a team. The course will also cover the importance of “staying in shape,” and remaining independent amidst criticism and threats.
As part of the unique setting for this course, participants will have the opportunity to attend a Cactus League Spring Training game featuring Major League Baseball teams in action. This optional outing offers a relaxed environment to reflect on course themes while enjoying Arizona’s iconic baseball tradition.
The course will take place in a highly rated downtown Phoenix hotel. Wear your favorite baseball team hat and jersey to class and prepare to have fun while sharpening your judicial skills.
