Our guest in today’s podcast, Judge Augustus Chin, was appointed to the Holladay, Utah, Justice Court in August 2011. Before coming to the bench, Judge Chin worked at the U.S. Embassy in his home country of Jamaica, as a planner at an Army depot and as a law clerk and bailiff, a prosecutor, and a criminal defense attorney. He was also a member of the Utah Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Professionalism and Civility from 2002 -2015. Judge Chin is a sympathetic and genuine jurist and uses his life experiences to relate to the litigants appearing in his court. Here he shares his tips for maintaining civility in YOUR court.
